‘See that you also excel in this grace of giving’

2 Corinthians 8:7

Giving

Jesus called on his people to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18) and so we need courage, clarity around the gospel message, as well as a love for our neighbours, friends and the nations around. It’s an incredible thing that God uses his people in this mission. At Christ Central we have vison and prayer and it is this:

Our prayer is to see a flood of lifelong disciples across the north edge of Brisbane and beyond.

Why Should You Give

We’re very much aware that if we would be used by God to have such an impact, it will require of us to give of our time, our talents, as well as our treasure. As you consider financial support to gospel ministry at Christ Central, have a look the giving principals that the apostle Paul gives in 2 Corinthians:

  • Christian giving is inspired by the cross of Jesus as an expression of God’s grace – in Jesus we have been made rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).
  • God values the generous heart (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Generosity involves personal sacrifice (2 Corinthians 8:1-5).
  • Give cheerfully. It doesn’t matter how much we give. Just be generous! (2 Corinthians 8:12).
  • Christian giving is for our spiritual good – it promotes thanksgiving to God (2 Corinthians 9:12).

How Much Should You Give

Following on from those giving principles, the New Testament doesn’t command a specific amount. Giving regularly, giving joyfully, and giving sacrificially is what really matters.

How to Give

It’s not our pattern at Christ Central to hand around a plate in the middle of our Sunday gathering. We do this for a reason – we don’t want visitors to feel obliged to give, when financial support is for the members of the church who are committed to the ministry. So instead we have a locked green box at the back of the auditorium. But in fact, we encourage people to give via Regular Direct Deposit via your bank. The details for this are:

Our program

At the heart of our program is Jesus. Learning about what Jesus has done for us is the centre of all that we do at Christ Central Kids. You’ll see this in the games we play, the songs we sing and as we learn our memory verse. Sometimes we receive help from our puppet friends to learn about Jesus too!

FAQ

What if my child doesn’t settle in straight away?

No worries. If your child is uncertain about heading out to the program without you, come along with them until they’ve settled or stay for the whole time, that’s totally up to you.

How will I know what class my child needs to go in to?

One of our team leaders will introduce themselves to you and your child and will then find your class teacher and other kids that will be in the same group as your child.

What if my child has food allergies?

Christ Central is a ‘nut free’ zone. If your child has specific food allergies please let one of the team leaders, wearing a red shirt, know and we’ll ensure that your child’s leader is aware.
